This page is divided into three sections. The first section will list the equipment and players used in the testing along
with any relevant stats that may have affected results. The second section lists the actual results for each test presented
in table forms. The third section will consist of commentary on my part and my conclusions using sources to explain the results
and comment on how the actual game mechanics should be implemented on uthgard in relation to live daoc as of 1.80 patch and
prior.
Note: All calculations at this time are going to be based off of the estimated 100-141% variance range that
I have found supporting information on through wyrd's/artemis's test logs as opposed to the commonly used (and even mythic
grab bag) sources from the web in regard to the 100-150% theories until otherwise proven wrong.
Note: When reviewing the tables below, keep in mind that max damage to a player cannot exceed the capped amount. Max damage
listings here may appear to exceed the cap but this is only for calculating the effects of resistances; for example a player
with 25% resistance is hit for 600 damage but the attackers cap was 300. The player is hit for 300 (-150). If the player
was hit for 350 damage, they would take 262 (-88). Uncapped max damage is listed in the tables to show the effects of higher
weaonskill on the damage range. The higher damage range is what is responsible for players being able to achieve capped hits
on certain types of targets, even with high resistances.
All attack logs were between 900-1100 hit samples with the exception of the cloth control test.
A BIG Thank You goes out to all testers who generously donated their time, and effort into working with
me to take these logs. Without these people, this would not have been possible!

Bow Weaponskills by Spec and Dexterity Amount
This is a chart I made listing ws values on uthgard so as to have a comparison with live ws values. I believe that uthgard
ws values are higher per point than live values, yet uthgard bow damage seems to remain substantially lower.

Conclusions
These conclusions are being based upon current data. As I update information, add new logs I may possible uncover new things
to report or find information that may change my interpretation of the data.
It is my opinion from looking at the live logs and comparing them to uthgard data there is an indication of a significant
difference between the damage potential of archers that were on the live servers. In looking at the example of the Slitz test
where presumably at around 1900 weaponskill, the max damage potential for his attacks were 532 damage in the logs. Taking
uthgard's testing using 1525 skill (roughly 26% less than slitz) we see a max damage potential of 394, a difference of 36
damage on the same type of armor if we consider every percentage increase in ws as a percent increase in damage. Given that
the total max range of slitz's damage is unknown it is evident that there is at least "some" difference in the damage range,
if not a great distance.
The best estimations that I can give are using the general purpose base damage calculation formula for which would indicate
that the damage potential for archers is, and should be, much greater than what is currently implemneted on uthgard. The
following is a list of the armor types studied and the differentiations , listed as a percentage, between the observed values
on uthgard and the predicted
values using the general bow damage formula calculations. The observation is that there is a distinct linear pattern to damage
scaling in that the higher armor factor class the target is, the less differentiation there is between the expected values
for that range and the observed. What this means is that in comparison, an archer is doing less damage per shot on a 'soft'
target like cloth, than to a 'hard' target such as scale or chain armor.
For results under 1525 weaponskill at 278 dexterity:
Cloth armor with only AF buff on has observed ranges of
329 - 465. Predicted ranges fall between 495 - 698, which results in a difference of about 50% in damage potential with the
observed and predicted values.
Cloth armor with absorption buff and AF buff on has ranges 296 - 419 which are dramatically different when compared to the
expected ranges of 445 - 628. These would require a 50% increase in damage potential to reach expected values for this type
of armor/buff situation.
Leather armor ranges on uthgard from 307 - 433 on the observed data. Its predicted range of 410 - 579, requires roughly a
34% increase to fall into expected ranges.
The max range of damage for reinforced on uthgard at 1525 weaponskill is 277 - 394. The predicted damage at where it should
be if it were on live server using the same weaponskill is 341 - 482, around a 22% increase.
For scale armor the difference is the least pronounced where the uthgard observed values range from 249 - 352 and the predicted
come to 288 - 407 requring only a 16% increase to fall into expected ranges.
For results under 1853 weaponskill at 337 dexterity:
For reinforced The max range of damage on uthgard at 1853 weaponskill is 321 - 453 on a target with 635 AF. The predicted
min and max are 405 and 571, indicating a difference of 21-22% damage between the predicted and observed.
In using the predicted values because for those, a percentage increase in weaponskill results in a similar increase in damage.
Almost all of the predicted data conforms to the values found in the logs from various tests, thus adding weight to the theory
that the predicted values are perhaps the nearest to the correct ones to use for bow damage calculation on uthgard.
